Everybody and their Mother has added “Speaker” to their resume lately
What is that doing to the industry?
As professionals up–leveling our game is something we are wisely doing on a consistent basis.
How can your presentation improve by thinking about the needs of your audience and how they need to understand what it means to Humanize their business? How can speakers be generative for their audiences? Are you creating space for experimentation in your presentations–giving recipients a taste of your message? Is your presentation collaborative in nature–giving participants more reason to pay attention?
We will be discussing with our guest Maddie Grant, co–author Humanize, what it could look like to take the principles “how people–centric organizations succeed in a social world” and make that a part of our own message–being the change warriors we claim we are as speakers.
How This Works
I get asked each week how do you moderate #Speakchat, while I wrote a post on that and tweet often here are some additional questions brought to my attention…
We have a moderated chat because I take time each week to bring you specialized experts to learn from. When chats hold an open chat it does not lend itself to covering a substantial amount of information before the hour is over. My goal is we learn from our guests by asking a series if specific questions the first 45 min. Then we have Q&A. If you have a question that addresses the current question for clarification, please state it to me so I can put it in the order of questions as we use Q1 Q2 etc… to keep it easy to follow the conversation and transcripts too!
A note, when you ask your own questions during interview you put your agenda ahead of the groups. That is why we have Q&A at the end of the chat, so you can ask those cool things that either myself our my guest did not think about earlier. Thank You! for honoring our process as it is here to serve the needs of all the community so we get the most out of our time here together.
When you tweets only you miss being part of the whole conversation with the group. We want you to benefit most possible.
